The hotel was once a part of the famous British owned Haddon Hill Estate. It still retains the distinctive hallmark of the famous Tudor type architecture, unique to the swellings of the wealthy landowners of the Victorian era in rural England. Ideally located on Single Tree Hill, the bungalow housing the hotel was built in the early 1800s by the British. “Shelborne” as it was then known, was the residence of Gilbert Bersham-Traill, the superintendent of Haddon Hill Estate.
